Noteworthy Trends to Support Women Entrepreneurs

The latest GEM Women’s Entrepreneurship Report, entitled Challenging Bias and Stereotypes, noted:

  • one in six women expresses a strong intention to launch a business in the near future
  • in low-income countries, 28% of women indicated their entrepreneurial aspirations
  • women represent one in four high-growth entrepreneurs globally, with higher proportions in low-income countries and North America.

In an article published on the World Economic Forum blog, GEM researcher Sreevas Sahasranamam and GEM Executive Director Aileen Ionescu-Somers delve into these findings in more detail and underscore trends that policymakers and other stakeholders should consider to grow women’s entrepreneurship. Access the article.
